A construction draftsperson turns architects’ and engineers’ designs into precise plans, maintains CAD and BIM models and aligns details with site management, specialist planners and authorities. Day-to-day work is mainly at the screen – with clear deadlines, standards and frequent coordination in the design team.
- Create and update floor plans, sections, elevations and detail drawings in CAD.
- Check dimensions, standards and building requirements; prepare drawing sets for tender and construction.
- Maintain BIM models, resolve clashes with other disciplines and produce drawing outputs.
- Incorporate and document changes from clients, architects and site management.
- Coordinate with surveyors, structural engineers and MEP planners and prepare site drawings.
