Design engineers (Konstrukteure) develop parts, assemblies and products: they create 3D CAD models and drawings, align manufacturing, standards and costs, and follow changes through to release – often in mechanical, plant and automotive engineering or supplier firms. Entry is typically via dual training as a technical product designer, technician pathways or a technical degree. Gross pay depends on region, CAD/PDM skills, industry and responsibility.
